Our Pastor
Rev. Tony Elder has been pastor of Rockdale Evangelical Methodist Church since 1985. He was born in Gainesville, Georgia. He graduated from Vennard College in Oskaloosa, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi with a Masters of Divinity degree. He and his wife, Cheryl, have three children - Melissa, Shannon and Nathan - along with three grandchildren.
In addition to pastoring the church, Rev. Elder writes a weekly column in the Religion Section of the local newspaper, The Rockdale Citizen. He also volunteers as a chaplain at Rockdale Medical Center.
